@MostlyTato All political parties have legal access to the full electoral roll. That's where RUK got your address. It's standard practice for parties to use that information for pre-election materials. Opting out of marketing lists has nothing to do with it.

My March story for @forbes has just gone live. It's all about pedestrian crossings and how the timings they're based on no longer match the demographics of our cities - research from the University of Bath

Fewer Than 2% Of Older Pedestrians Can Cross The Street In Time

The length of the green signal on pedestrian crossings assumes that people can walk at a speed of 1.2 m/s. Scientists find that very few older people can walk that fast.

@Lemlems you could try WilliamGee.co.uk. that's where I go when I can't find something anywhere else online. I've used Oh Sew Crafty in the past and they are fine.
Decided on my #finishitfebruary projects.
1 the cotton potholders that I must finish so I can donate them to a charity craft stall in spring.
2 the wool skirt I'm knitting up to be the size of a house because I'm going to felt it.
3) the broken lace sweater that's taking ages.
4) the socks knitted in magic loop, which is OK but not the game changer it promised to be. I'm sorry dpns, all is forgiven. #knitting #crochet
Happy “Large boulder the size of a small boulder” day to all who celebrate.
@saxifraga Farage better watch his back. Tories love a leadership challenge.

@Simon318ppm @RichRARobi @Miro_Collas very little waste legislation has been scrapped - only the former Site Waste Management Regulations (that required construction sites to recycle more) comes to mind.
What has changed in recent years is the funding structures of the EA, the loss in capacity for reprocessing materials in the UK, other countries taxing or outright banning waste imports, the huge uptake in lithium-ion batteries that means the UK waste industry is effectively uninsurable for fire, the declining quality of fast fashion textiles that is killing second hand clothing markets, and new laws preventing materials from being recycled due to chemicals used in their manufacture. We are increasingly buying products that are difficult and expensive to dispose and recycle. It's going to take a lot more than Government funding to solve all those problems.
@weirdestate visitors have posted much more attractive photos of it on Google maps. https://maps.app.goo.gl/qUEWyreGPJjYw3X8A
