It worked! But the random seams are more visible than I expected. Maybe I'm going back to aligned for this part 🤔
Here's my #freecadfriday contribution:
I've continued my work on the DIY twitter box case. The amazing #FreeCAD forum showed me a way to model the attachment points to install the base plate (inside the corners). Additionally, I've separated the base plate from the frame. And I've added 4 brackets to mount the frame with the lid. I'm going to add a guide edge instead of the notch to position the brackets. The nodge results in visible artifacts on the outside of the printed part.
Thank you very much for your ideas and proposals! The final solution was proposed by Shalmeneser in the FreeCAD forum.

First reply after 40 minutes - reply with the solution I'm going to adapt after 59 minutes. Shalmeneser nailed it using a DatumLine and a DatumPlane. If you're interested, I've asked some nerdy detail questions in the forum 🤓

I've continued my work on the DIY twitter box.
I tried to save some time by buying a 18650 battery holder. Unfortunately, it was nearly impossible to get the battery out again (it has a protection circuit).
That's why I've modeled my own and ordered suitable battery contacts which get inserted into the designated slots at the ends.
Please tell me it's okay to build my own battery holder ...
