Hiker, caver, cat and dog herder, plant based cooking enthusiast. Love cooking, reading, and the outdoors.
I was messing around on StoryGraph and saw this as a recommendation and decided to get it. Some of my favorite books in recent years have been retellings of ancient myths, like Circe (retelling of the Odyssey from Circe's perspective) and the Witch's Heart (a retelling of Norse mythology and Ragnarok from a witch's perspective). I'm hoping it's good! What's the book tag on Pixelfed? #Books #Mythology #AmReading #Fantasy #Medusa
It's going to be really cold this weekend but wildflower season isn't too far away. I was just looking through photos from last year to see what weekends will be good to see different wildflowers. Bluebells here get started in March. They're one of my favorites! #Wildflowers #Hiking #NorthAlabama #Bluebells
Here's a new book I'm currently reading for a plant based diet certificate. About a year ago I switched to a mostly plant based diet (although I'm not militant about it) but I found out at a recent doctor's appointment that my blood sugar was a little high. Thanks, menopause! Now I'm also eating low carb. I wanted to learn more about how to eat a truly healthy plant based diet and this is the main textbook. So far it's pretty interesting. #Vegan #PlantBased #LowCarb #BloodSugar
Starting a newish novel by one of my favorite authors. Her first book In the Woods is one of the best detective books I've ever read. I'm pretty sure it will be depressing though, with probably a murder or two. #Books #AmReading #Bookstodon #TanaFrench
I forgot I created this account like two years ago, decided to start using it now that there are some good phone apps. I don't have any particularly interesting new photos to share but here's an obligatory photo from the southern snowstorm on Friday. We don't deal with snow very well here, people lose their minds and buy every single loaf of bread, carton of eggs, and container of milk and lose the ability to drive. Luckily it's mostly melted and the roads are now fine. #Snow #Hello
