Jelle Jacobs is a postdoc in the lab of Alexander Stark. He recently published the main results of his postdoctoral research in the journal Science. With this accomplishment and the spirit of a community builder, he is ready to make the next step in his academic career, as a group leader – ideally in Vienna or in his native Belgium.

Immunologists reveal how the Pax5 protein regulates B cell development and commitment

The IMP has a long history of research with Pax5, an essential transcription factor for B cell development: Deputy Scientific Director Meinrad Busslinger and his lab have researched its functions for decades. Sarah Grünbacher, a recent graduate from the Vienna BioCenter PhD Program, explains their latest findings on the domains of Pax5, now published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine.

Karl Landsteiner Award for Louisa Hill

Louisa Hill, former PhD student in the lab of Meinrad Busslinger, received the Karl Landsteiner Award of the Austrian Society of Allergology and Immunology in a ceremony held in Linz today. Her research on DNA recombination principles in early B cell development propelled our understanding of how a diverse antibody repertoire arises.

Excited to share our recent work from the @clausen_lab published in @CellPressNews as part 2 of the BacPROTAC story. Here we use targeted protein degradation as an antibiotics strategy to induce self-elimination of essential mycobacterial Clp proteins. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S009286742300404X
