Good Morning! On this day, (Sunday) April 5 in 1925, Janet Rowley was born. She was an American human geneticist and the first scientist to identify a chromosomal translocation as the cause of leukemia and other cancers. This proved that cancer is a genetic disease. #Herstory #WomeninSTEM
One month ago, on March 5, we collaborated with Arte-Fac and UCLouvain Woluwe on the exhibition Pionnières, dedicated to women in health sciences.
On our Soapbox, we have the pleasure to raise the voices of UCLouvain researchers Margo Tonnelier, Lucile Gely and Sibylle Cazorla.
We are really happy to participate in the event and for this collaboration that help bring science to the streets and bring visibility to the people behind that research. #womeninscience #womeninstem #SoapboxScience

The Apollo Guidance Computer created for the Apollo moon missions of the 1960s and 70s was built using custom hardware for the task, and the software running on it was hand-coded in 3 megabytes of Assembly by a small team led by Margaret Hamilton!

And Mrs. Hamilton is still alive today! I wonder what she thinks about the fact that the computer aboard Artemis just had a problem with accidentally running two copies of Microsoft Outlook at the same time?
