@johncarlosbaez For what it's worth, pitch oscillation is a thing. Vibrato in the classical or expressive context, and then there's synth stuff that do a similar thing. They're usually thought of in the same way that timbre is, but sometimes microtonal artists use those sounds in conjunction with weird tunings to make them more palatable.
Oscillation speed, amplitude, shape, how many doubling voices there are (and whether they're doing generally the same thing) can all be considered.
Almost uniquely among American journalists working at major outlets, @willbunch is calling his peers on their rank cowardice in the face of the emergency our nation faces.
We may well be one election away from a dictatorship, and Big Journalism's business-as-usual approach amounts to collaboration with enemies of democracy.

Hi #gischat let's got for a 2nd Daily #mapmaking with #QGIS
For the past 2 weeks or so we’ve had an ongoing earthquake swarm very close to the town of Grindavík in the Reykjanes Peninsula. The swarm is very likely caused by an inflating magma body currently at about 5 km depth. The shape of the body is most likely a flat sill expanding and causing earthquakes. These events might lead to an eruption very close to people’s homes and lots of infrastructure.

Good read:
“Many scientists consider underestimates to be “conservative,” because they are conservative with respect to the question of when to sound an alarm or how loudly to sound it. The logic of this can be questioned, because underestimation is not conservative when viewed in terms of giving people adequate time to prepare. (Consider for example, an underestimate of an imminent hurricane, tornado, or earthquake.)”
