@dansup thanks for looking into this and don’t you dare work on Christmas 😃🙏🏻

Oh no, the #pixelfed link only seems to work if you’re logged in.

And even if I visit pixelfed in a private browser and click a hashtag, that page also shows a “page not available” message, e.g.: https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/birds

@dansup - any ideas?

@timrichards Zuck says #Threads is seeing 100 million daily users (https://www.theverge.com/2024/12/16/24322947/mark-zuckerberg-meta-threads-100-million-daily-active-users).

It’s clearly a 100% #algorithm based feed though, creating an even larger echo chamber than #bluesky is becoming.

Mark Zuckerberg says Threads has more than 100 million daily active users

Threads now has more than 100 million daily active users, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Monday. The platform also has more than 300 million monthly active users.

@rolle and isn’t that what “social” media is supposed to be about? Getting to have your own space, not just being another user consuming a never ending firehouse of posts.

@prgauthier not at all.

Check the top posts for the day - comments on them show a much better environment that what’s on #reddit

Having various servers also enables a conversation around #moderation that Spez could never be bothered to even pretend to care about.

@Azarilh mention it everywhere you can. Most people don’t even know we exist, so comment on TikTok videos, Bluesky posts, Reddit, etc!

The next big VC idea just dropped at #bluesky:
1️⃣ Build a social network with 20M+ users managed by a tiny staff of 20.
2️⃣ Let everyone in - trolls, hate groups, and the worst corners of the internet.
3️⃣ Make users handle moderation with endless blocklists.
4️⃣ Sell it to the highest bidder and bail.

Sound familiar? Don’t settle for chaos.

The #Fediverse is ad-free, decentralized, and community-run. No billionaires, no hate-filled spaces, no drama.

I should also mention that #piefed and #mbin are up-and-coming link sharing sites as well.
