Note that "wrong" doesn't mean "poorly written." #TNG, especially Generations, shows that #Picard's feelings toward family are complex and that he regrets not having a son, and previous #PIC seasons show in his old age he cares less about the Federation and more about his personal quests, so I think it's very in character for him to pull rank.

It's just wrong.

Okay, Shaw's a dick and a bigot against ex-Borg, but otherwise he's... correct?

The Federation has strict rules about jurisdiction so that they never become an imperialist power. It sucks that life outside the Federation is cruel, but an imperialist colonizer Federation is worse.

#Picard and Riker are free to try to save Beverley and Jack as individuals, but not as representatives of Starfleet. Picard pulling rank on Shaw to force engagement was wrong.

The #SocialSecurity judge denied me at my hearing. No #disability. This is my third time trying. I've been disabled and unable to work since 2013. Each attempt literally takes years, during which I'm supposed to, I don't know, magically survive on nothing.

At my hearing, the judge questioned how I could play a #TTRPG once a week, which is literally my only IRL social interaction outside my apartment-mates, but not be able to work.

Fuck her. Fuck this country. I hope it burns.

All the doctors and my friends and everyone tells me to stay hydrated, but the Dos Equis guy said "Stay thirsty, my friends," so I don't know...

Reminder: This video of "Nemik's Manifesto" from "Star Wars Andor" is utterly epic & you should watch it.

It Is Journalism’s Sacred Duty To Endanger The Lives Of As Many Trans People As Possible

The task of reporting is not a simple one. Each and every day, reporters and editors at publications like The Onion make difficult decisions about which issues should receive attention, knowing that our coverage will influence not only how people think, but also how they act. This responsibility is at the core of an…

The Black Panthers were not Black supremacists, although there were Black supremacists in the 60s. There are still Black supremacists today! No one cares much, because they have no power, and Black people don't listen to them. They mostly just spout nonsense at you while you're waiting for the bus. 🤷🏿‍♂️

The FBI did not care much about Black supremacists in the 60s either.

What they feared most, was the rise of any "Black Messiah," who could lead Black people.

The Black Panthers also provided free clinics and vaccination for kids. ♥️👍🏿

How did the Black Panthers, with relatively zero funding, set up free health clinics for Black people, where the government of the richest nation on earth could not?

These are uncomfortable questions, most easily answered by destroying those clinics.

With Free Medical Clinics and Patient Advocacy, the Black Panthers Created a Legacy in Community Health That Still Exists Amid COVID-19

The Black Panthers' community health services grew out of a deep distrust in minority communities towards the traditional health care system.
