Seems like a highly original book. Added it to my reading list #researchmethods #equity

Working on a proposal for an innovative research method. A new way of building an argument on relevance and added value. Inspired. Shouldn’t be so time consuming though. #innovation #researchmethods
@harold ah, just boosting is not in line with your recommendation that you need to add value when sharing but, at the end of a busy day perhaps that will because I like the message of connecting work and learning!

"We will never transform the prevailing system of management without transforming our prevailing system of education. They are the same system.” ―Peter Senge (1990) The Fifth Discipline: The Art & Practice of The Learning Organization

From a perspective that work is learning, and learning is the work, then it becomes clear that both work and learning have to change for real organizational change and the potential to truly create learning organizations.

If the #EU is serious about #digitalsovereignty and #privacy, #Mastodon is a meaningful step, but also a delicate one.

Supporting the #fediverse shouldn’t mean centralising it, capturing it, or over-regulating it. The real challenge is to fund capacity, standards, and sustainability without undermining #decentralization, pluralism, or community governance.

How to fund #research with less bias and lower costs? Use more lotteries!

"Lottery before peer review is associated with increased female representation and reduced cost"

Give that this is only one of many such reports over the last decades, surely, this has become the standard by now? Oh, wait...

"taxpayers will have spent more on the funding process than on the funding itself"

Looks like #academia really is evidence-resistant 🫣

Lottery before peer review is associated with increased female representation and reduced estimated economic cost in a German funding line - Nature Communications

The authors show evidence from a German funding line that a lottery-first approach followed by peer review is accompanied by increased female representation both at the submission stage and among funded projects as well as by lower estimated costs.

Corpora & Discourse International Conference 2026 – 23-25 June 2026

“Good leaders combine personal humility, self-knowledge and the ability to learn,” [Mark Carney] wrote in Values. “That means admitting mistakes, seeking and accepting feedback and sharing the lessons. When leaders become overconfident (or turn to writing books) they stop learning.”

It's that darn #learning thing that might bring about anyone's demise ...
