If it's horrible and floats it'll wash up here eventually. #Histodon-adjacent (mostly) nautical nonsense.
@kolya Also, the ship itself had been used previously by the recycling firm involved to carry their materials, which adds a nice circularity to things
@kolya Most of it's steel, so melted down and reused. I think they took the bridge off intact to use as a visitor viewpoint on the site, at least temporarily.

So this was kind of fascinating - a victim of some inappropriate navigation being reduced to bits (it was temporarily refloated to get it there)

@PublicChaffinch @Scornflakegrrrl I think they're quite easy to take cuttings from, if you want to give it a go. Have a check online, but I suspect in spring when they're ready to start growing again would be the best time.
absolute scenes here from the aeronaut Henri de la Vaulx - in his “crash-suit” - used to test the Victor Tatin monoplane behind him in November 1907.
It came in useful when the machine crashed on the 18th, after a 70m flight

Hi everyone, it's now one just week (eep!) before my book "A History of Painting: with Dinosaurs" launches in #London (UK) at Kings College.

Join me as I take you on a crazy journey through the history of art as it could have been, if the great artist had painted #dinosaurs. It's free for anyone to attend, but you need to put your name on the list to get in:

I'd love to have some Mastodonians/Fediversians show up!

Before you laugh, this account often reminds people that you should never judge a book by its cover.

(a #Naval #History thread)

@wordsmith As in the tank? Generally avoid them as tank fans are weirdly and scarily knowledgeable
@aethylred It migrated my follow just fine. Noticed you'd done it as you restored the accounts you were following, so I got a notification
