Young Sherlock (2026, St. 1)

Schaue gerade Young Sherlock und bin etwas unterwältigt. So eine Serie gab es ja schon mal und damals dachte ich schon, naja, wenn man den Held jünger macht, läuft man Gefahr, dass man das Charisma der Figur nicht retten kann. In dieser Serie ist Sherlock guter Freund von Moriarty im Alter von Heranwachsenden und ich ertappe mich dabei, beide ab und an zu verwechseln, was mir nur dadurch auffällt, dass die Personen sich dauernd mit ihren Namen ansprechen, was vielleicht heutzutage beabsichtigt ist, wenn alle beim Gucken noch auf ihrem Handy rumwischen, die Figuren aber auch etwas dumpf wirken lässt. Schauspielerisch überzeugen mich die Jungemimen nicht, da muss atmosphärisch Colin Firth ordentlich was rausholen,

aber der wird schon in Folge 4 ermordet. Gut der kam auch etwas langweilig rüber – Joseph Fiennes übernimmt anschließend dessen Funktion passend.

Es bleibt eine gewisse Biederkeit eines mäßigen Barnaby-Krimis mit Folgen übergreifendem Rätsel, ohne aus England bekannten Gewaltexzessen. Es scheint für den amerikanischen Anbieter glattgebügelt.

We finished Sherlock last night on Netflix. It's been on our list for a while, but we got notified at the beginning of the month that it's disappearing on Monday (30 March), so we decided we'd better get off our asses.

My word, what a rush! Highly recommended if you're a fan of modern interpretations of Sherlock Holmes, and you think you can manage four seasons of three-to-four 90-minute episodes each before Monday. :-)
