Anyone else done that wizardry with lazyvim and 1Password cli?

GPG Signing and sshkey committing. This just feels right and so easy to maintain. #nixos #nvim #vim #linux #macos

Anyone else getting a little tired of #ai being forced down their throats.

I see the tech industry falling over themselves being driven by VC’s with short term goals and no real understanding of where the tech sits in the S-curve.

Businesses terrified of being the left behind and trying to consume and stay ahead of the topic when #ai researchers whose job it is, are barely staying afloat with the sheer amount happening in the space.

I sat in on a talk at Bath university by thought leaders on the topic and listening the questions asked by students and professors alike trying to get crystal ball predictions of when their jobs will be automated and their career / studies made pointless.

Felt more like a group therapy session where the speakers desperately tried to remain on topic and awkwardly quell peoples worries.

Your jobs are fine people. Ai still struggles to count the β€˜r’s in strawberry.

So I’m pretty new to #nixos but damn I feel like I’ve been missing a trick. #nvim/ #vim as my full time editor thanks to a tasty setup and the ability to avoid bloating my device by creating disposable shells with packages installed in isolation. What a dream..

Well.. I’m now at 35-40 wpm. Feel like a turtle 🐒. Nvim just about feeling normal.

Updated #introduction:

πŸ‘‹ Hi everyone! I'm Sam Crudge, a cloud architect and EMBA student with a passion for Linux and Mac systems.

I write #Terraform, #Bash, #Python, and #PowerShell, and I'm currently learning #Go.

When I'm not working or studying, you can find me tinkering with my #RaspberryPi, exploring new hobbies, or spending time with my family. Follow me for tech insights, coding tips, and more!

Well I’m well underway with my MBA and already finding ways to apply the experiences to my role, bridging the gap between the tech side and the business.

I can see why both sides get frustrated and I hope I can continue to build value in making both sides understood and heard.

I’m still unsure what role I will end up doing as it’s such a mix of the two sectors.

Consider me unsure πŸ˜…

Is there a list of awesome #go devs I could follow on here?

#golang

I’m pretty close to finishing my #satnog setup. Just waiting on a the coax to arrive and then it’s into configuring my Raspberry Pi.

Looks like I’m going to be using r2cloud for transmission decoding.

Looking forward to plotting and tracking my interactions with orbital tech.

How do you get past all the incompatibility of video calls on Linux? All I get is screen tearing and inconsistent screen sharing experiences.

I did a stint on Fedora and Arch but I found myself fighting against the OS.

Has anyone got past these issues or do your eyes just not see screen tearing anymore πŸ˜….

#linux

I’ve started building a cli tool that is a mix of AWS sso sign in and AWS-console.

It’s not anything ground breaking but it’s combining two things I use daily.

It also only shows me valid sso profiles to login with.

written in Go ofc.
