There is also the effect of desexualisation. In societies where the unclothed #body is constantly linked with titillation or taboo, shame easily attaches to it. #Naturism separates #nudity from sexual performance. When people socialise, swim, eat, talk, read, or walk in #nature without clothing, the #body becomes ordinary rather than provocative. This reduces anxiety about being seen. #Naturism is grounded in #acceptance of #diversity because it begins by acknowledging an obvious truth: no two bodies are the same. Age, height, colour, ability, scars, softness, firmness, hair, asymmetry, & difference are everywhere once clothing is removed.
