Grevillea candelabroides (grafted) flowering in the garden at Corunna, NSW. This beautiful WA species features attractive foliage and large sprays of creamy white flowers (which are scented). Grafted plants are a good option in the east and can be long lived in areas with summer humidity. Unfortunately not often seen in general nurseries although does occasionally become available in small numbers.

I am particularly proud of this photo. I guess itโ€™s one of the best, if not the best of the photo I took in Canada during that trip. Can you see the reflection of both hills? And the trees? Look closer - you can see the tea house at the lake Agnes. It was built in 1901 by the Canadian Pacific Railway. It was open in 1905 and is allegedly the oldest teahouse in Canada. The current building is from 1981.

At Wellington Zoo yesterday I spotted this fine pohutakawa. It's one of two yellow ones there - a dramatic difference from the usual red.
