It is drugs day, the day where my immune system is at its strongest and most aggressive, and I went to a museum yesterday.

I feel like GARBAGE. My throat hurts, my back hurts, I'm fairly certain someone has filled my blanket with lead weights, my eyes are drier than the Sahara.

I've been awake for maybe ten minutes. I have to get up to do my injection to make everything better, but that's two rooms away, which is unfathomably far.

New cause for diabetes in babies found in non-coding genes

Scientists have found new genetic causes for diabetes in babies – in a part of the genome that has historically been overlooked in genetic studies

What is it like to live with extreme hypothyroidism...

I'm trying to stop taking T3 (triiodothyronine - liothyronine), but today, in 20°C weather, I had a rather unpleasant bout of hypothermia. My core temperature (measured at the eardrum) wouldn't go above 35°C, and I had stomach pain and shivering. Autumn is just starting here, and it began with damp and somewhat chilly weather. I don't know if it will be possible for me to stop taking T3 because my thyroid isn't functioning properly, and the conversion of T4 to T3 isn't working well at all. The problem is that a day like this means terrible digestion, extreme fatigue, feeling cold, drowsy, and depressed. I can't concentrate on anything. The main reason I'm trying to stop taking this hormone is primarily the price, and secondly, because it tends to raise my blood sugar and induce hypomanic states (it acts as an antidepressant, which I can't take, because I'm bipolar).

That's my life with autoimmune atrophic thyroiditis (Hashimoto).

So, my UCTD appears to be in remission or something. My ANA and ESR labs came back. ANA shows negative for the first time since diagnosis, it was 1:320. ESR is down to 12 after peaking at 32. I think what I have been feeling has been residual of my last flare.

If a "Service" is "Always-on" on/off switch & so no concepts of Timer - phone Rotary Dial system, no Back-To & no Auto-Closing - so no cut cut cut..... then risk of #Autoimmune diseases
Autobahns/ Highways / Long road stretches / Motorways / Expressways / Railroad / Railway / Planes / Spaceships are similar to "Always-on" on/off switches as no Timer concept, no Back-To concept & no Auto-Closing concept. So #Autoimmune diseases risk

Situation: I’ve been eating exclusively non-iodized sea salt for 4 years, after noticing that iodized table salt was causing or exacerbating histamine overload.

My latest blood test shows signs of hypothyroidism. Doctor wants to give me an iodine supplement. I suggested I try small amounts of iodized table salt first, knowing that the supplement my doctor recommends also contains several fillers I often react to.

But even just a two pinches of iodized table salt, twice a day, is causing a dramatic mast cell activation/histamine overload reaction (headaches, itchy skin and eyes, racing heart, bloating, bowel cramping and diarrhea, nausea, racing unwanted thoughts, sleeplessness, sneezing, sore throat, worsening of existing bladder issues like pain and urgency and frequent peeing, increase in perceived neuropathic pain). These histamine reactions are then triggering hormonal fluctuations and hot flashes, which are then in turn causing post-exertional malaise (PEM). All that from a few pinches of salt.

So my question is for others who have thyroid issues and also MCAS or histamine related issues: how do you maintain healthy iodine levels without causing a release of too much histamine in your body?
