@BeeTurland and I are looking for our next #TV series to binge.

We're about to wrap up the #Hallmark series #TheGoodWitch (including the movies that preceded the series proper).

We're looking for something with a similar vibe: comforting, feel-good, wholesome, and optimistic.

We've both heard good things about #TedLasso, so that's definitely a contender. Any suggestions for other series or places to find similar recommendations?

The migration out of #Substack is a good moment to point out that the #Fediverse has several long-form blogging servers.

Reminder: Amazon and Space X are fighting in court to have the NLRB declared unconstitutional.

This means the two richest men on earth want to dismantle the agency that holds them accountable for union busting.

Hey! US folks! Those noncompete clauses you signed? Just banned.

Celebrate!

@greyknight I mean, it sounds like we pretty much agree on a lot of things in theory...but can we agree that making homelessness a crime is cruelty, because most homeless people are only homeless because they can't afford housing? Many of them have jobs, but can't afford a roof over their heads, and most shelters have many restrictions, and also get filled rapidly.
@greyknight What about the fact that wages have been stagnant, and the minimum wage hasn't been raised in most places in nearly 2 decades? We need to both raise the bridge AND lower the water. You can't expect most people to "pull themselves up by their bootstraps" when 90% of states in the US require a minimum wage of around $30/hour for people to afford a 2 bedroom apartment, let alone a home for their family that doesn't involve putting money in a landlord's pocket...
@greyknight since you like homework so much, look up how many empty housing units there are in the US. Then look at the number of estimated homeless people in the US. Nevermind, I'll just tell you: there are approximately THIRTY empty houses for every single homeless man, woman, and child in America, so homelessness could 100% be eradicated for a minute fraction of our overbloated military budget...
@greyknight because most people AGREE with my stance, so I made a funny meme about it. If you don't agree with it, feel free to keep scrolling.
@greyknight I know plenty of history. I even know about what you're referring to about Napoleon. I just take umbrage with anyone trying to give me an assignment when they've never said a word to me before. 🤷🏾‍♀️
