D-Day.

The day the Allies, including American soldiers, landed in Normandy, France to begin the liberation of Europe.

You know, to stop the Nazis after years of war and the people of Europe suffering at the hands of a crazed dictator.

On this day my father was on a floating huge hollow concrete block, with 1 other seaman, being towed to the waters off Arromanche where on the 7th they would sink said block as a breakwater for the Mulberry Harbour.
