As far as I'm concerned, you have three options:
1. Not watch the new Harry Potter.
2. Watch the new Harry Potter but shut up about it.
3. Admit to watching the new Harry Potter and be judged.
There is no fourth option. I think you should do number 1, but you're a grownup and I don't have access to your router, so it's not up to me. But understand that if you do watch it, you need to either shut the hell up or brace yourself. Because I am not here to make you feel ok about it.

But I'd say if you're old enough to have a credit card (for HBO Max), or engage in piracy, you are probably also old enough to not need pencils for school etc.
That being said, I'm personally not much into purity tests, and generally don't bother people who write fanfiction, commit piracy, participate in larps with the serial filed off, etc.

I would assume this thread was about the upcoming streaming show, which just got its first trailer.
And the target group for any Harry Potter franchise subject (and related stories with serials filed off) at this point is at least secondarily millennials such as I trying to recapture our youth.

The problem is that if you have enough unpopular political stances (as I do), and exposition to Internet, you don't really get any entertainment without doing some really fine demarcation on what's moral and what's not.
For example: anything made or owned by Disney, directly or otherwise. Any legal or real person who's funded US Republicans. What companies are still operating in Russia and Israel. Warner for pushing JKR. And so on.

Translations of Pratchett's books may be somewhat loaded dice, though. He wasn't very forgiving with his references, jokes and language plays.
She still goes on social media and trumpets HP interest, via fandom et al, as proof you support her. She has been very open about that. So you can pirate if you want, but she'll still use that as part of her anti trans campaign and as proof that she has support, and you deserve to be fucking judged for doing that!
It is not just the money to her, or trans people.

At this point high seas may well be an option for watching, but certainly not for enjoying. There are too many intruding thoughts for anything but academic interest, I would think.
