@georgetakei There is an entire doomsday cult being built out of MAGA.
A lady at work is constantly going on about it. It seems deliberate. Like the cult asking you to drink to Kool aid.
It's tiring.
@georgetakei I'd rather say that a lot of the politicians in our world abuse religion to prove their points.
But no religion is here to prove that any of us is right. Religion is here to form us to be better people, to care for each other, to have a moral ground.
What these politicians so completely ignores is that their actions speaks louder than anything.
Such politicians coming with such claims as Mrs. Franson, who defends the way they treat their citizens (like, health care, immigration, helping people in need) should also point out where in the "Good Book" it says anything about refusing to help people in need, undignified behaviour towards immigrants, spreading hatred among the population, segregation of communities, refusing to help their own people getting proper health care. Oh, and I'm pretty sure most religions has some clear ideas how to preserve the creation and the world we live in as well.
Such politicians should be held accountable against the religion they claim to defend. And trust me, they would all fall like flies if you start digging into the gory religious details - regardless of the religion.
No religion is suitable for a "cherry pick your own faith". You need to take it fully in.
These politicians are abusing religious statements to gain more power and wealth for themselves. Nothing more, noting less.
One thing these fools can't seem to understand is that climate changes won't destroy the planet. The planet will survive the loss of humanity as a species.
@georgetakei maybe Climate Change isn't in the Bible because God expected us to be smart enough to recognize it and figure out what to do about it.
Yeah, he greatly overestimated us
Are mobile devices or social networking in the good book? Palantir? Nukes? Detention centres? Fake Christians?
Holy rolling clowns.
Franson is one of the dimmest bulbs in the legislature. She’s as dim or dimmerer than Pam Altendorf.
Why do the GOPers keep electing these idiots? They’re not Christians, and contrary to their claims, they have not read the ‘Good Book.’
One has 5 kids, the other has 3. They’re trad wives with a combined IQ of -182.
Franson normally only comes out after the sun goes down.
Sunlight burns.
FWIW the end of the world described in the bible speaks of fire and the earth being laid bare … it’s honestly where we’ll end up if climate change is unchecked. Wildfires, cataclysmic storms, land laid bare unsuitable for farming. You can make a pretty good argument that fighting climate change is prevention of a biblical apocalyptic.
Neither was WWII
@georgetakei These people have obviously never read the Bible:
"We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty [...] for destroying those who destroy the earth."
- Revelation 11:17-18
@georgetakei What does the Bible say about airplanes?
I mean, you can choose to believe in this shit if you like. You can believe in ghosts and witches and Santa, but when your delusions start effecting my life, my children’s lives, you can fuck all the way off with those fantasies. Preach in your own damn church, and pay for it with your own damn tithes.
This person hasn't read the end of the book. There are a LOT of major climate events. The sky fucking bleeds. Burning hail...lots of lighting...winds...a bunch of angels farting....
No dude. Climate gets fucked HARD and then everyone dies horribly and then the whole world is destroyed. Last two seals you do NOT want to be around exactly because the climate will be VERY inhospitable to human life.
They haven't read the book. It's just laughably apparent.
