Everything on the farm is an experiment. Some work, some fail and we learn from them.
We are out there trying to sort out how to feed our family without exchanging money for food or animal feed.
Some things are working well. Others, not so much.
I made a video that was a simple bitch session about the state of the world. I will not post it, because that's not what I want to put into the world.
I am human after all.
The average hunter-gatherer used about 100 to 300 watts of energy (metabolic) in a day. A human in a pre-modern agrarian society used roughly 800 watts a day.
The global average is roughly 2,500 watts a day. (Metabolic plus electricity)
And a human in a modern western society uses 10,000 Watts a day.
This video does what it claims to do; puts the climate crisis in context. Vivid context.
I was driving home from work and I passed by a truck selling plants on the side of the road.
I didn't have any cash but I went back to talk to this older gentleman and his very old mother.
They said they don't stay out long if they aren't selling but said, "we live right down that road, if we're not here we're there. Stop by on Monday."
$.50 a plant, grown locally by some old folks who will invite you to stop by their house.
That's how it should be.

I don't think this is a tinfoil hat thing at all. We're trained to frame it that way. But that's more scifi horror to me. Join us or we'll trample on you. Join us or be nobody.
Be honest, I am already nobody. We all are.
How can I possibly be MORE voiceless in this world? How can I possibly be less meaningless? When bots on socials have more interaction than any other humans how exactly are those socials actually social for humans?
How are any of us benefiting?
We did not become billionaires by losing our privacy and listening to a subjective narrative... THEY DID.
