This Afroman trial is giving me life.

Cops raided Afroman's house for no reason. They pointed guns at him and his kids, ransacked his house, and tried to disconnect his home security cameras. They didn't disconnect them all, and so were allegedly caught on camera stealing his money.

He then made a series of music videos using footage from his security camerasz and body cam footage. Now the cops are suing him for making the videos. The ACLU is defending him.

Deputy Suing Afroman Says Cops In Other Areas Know Him As ‘Officer Pound Cake’

@mekkaokereke ahahahahahahahahaha I love it. ❤️❤️❤️

Great, now I don't get this damned song out of my head 😂

@mekkaokereke is the cop's entire suit just this dril tweet?
@mekkaokereke The hero we need in these fucked-off times.

@mekkaokereke list of things nobody would have cared about on a national scale until they took it to court: this guy will forever be mocked.

If he wanted people to keep his name outta their mouths, maybe he shoulda stayed outta Afroman's home and kept another man's property outta his pockets.

He's rightfully gettin legally dog walked on public record for embarrassing himself and dishonoring his badge. Lol

@NadiaPurge @mekkaokereke maybe the streisand effect gets a lemon pound cake corollary
@geospaz @mekkaokereke at least his nickname makes him sound delicious. Lol

@mekkaokereke

Defamation: Act of injuring another's reputation by any slanderous communication, written or oral; the wrong of maliciously injuring the good name of another; slander; detraction; calumny; aspersion.
Slander: A false and malicious statement or report about someone.
Malicious: Indulging or exercising malice; harboring ill will or enmity.

Well, the ill will seems justified. If all cops believed they might get caught out for THEIR malicious behaviour, maybe things would improve.

YouTube
@CStamp @mekkaokereke yup, and it also doesn't really matter if it's malicious--it's not slander if it's true. Video footage cannot be slander/libel/defamation lol unless it's a deepfake

@mekkaokereke lol wut? Why isn't he suing the other cops making fun of him then?

On a side note: acab apparently also true for colleagues... harming poor lemon pound cake like that with cop-on-cop violence smh 😔

@mekkaokereke he couldn’t even say his name! lol
@Nicovel0 @mekkaokereke Oh, you _know_ which word he was gonna use before stopping himself.
@mekkaokereke he’s lucky it’s not cake fucker after the way he was eyeballing it in the video.
@mekkaokereke I gotta admit I was not ready for how on point Afroman was. That's not someone you wanna argue with, let alone be _wrong_ when you are!
@Mabande @mekkaokereke 100%. Rock solid like that, not to mention while testifying. Stands out because it is so rare. That was watching a very sharp and organised mind at work.

@mekkaokereke @Mabande

He is indeed impressive! Also, it’s easier to stay on point when you only need to have one:

They done bad, and that is the source of all their troubles: don’t blame me!

@Mabande @mekkaokereke

His lawyer prepped him well and he was on point.

Meanwhile, at opposing counsel's table....

@DeliaChristina @mekkaokereke The Best and Brightest can't even understand the concept of just saying "no".
@mekkaokereke separately it did not occur to me until @annathepiper repeated this story at me _just now_ that "lemon pound cake" and "bacon pancakes" have exactly the same scansion
@mekkaokereke (and now i'm just hearing the other cops go "lemon found cake makin' lemon pound cake, lemon pound cake lemon lemon pound cake" whenever he's nearby)
@mekkaokereke what a fragile baby that cop is. Afroman did the lightest possible roasting with that song and video. He literally called him a family guy and said he likes cake. This is such a childish lawsuit.
@domo @mekkaokereke That's not just one cop. It's all of them, including the guy who left the force after being bullied by the local kids.
@mekkaokereke right, next time I'm rightfully humiliated in public I'll sue and make a massive affair of it until even some rando from Germany (ahem 👋) knows I'm a big cwybaby about 🎵"Lemon Pound Cake, Lemon Pound Cake" 🎶 Do these guys ever consult the Barbra Streisand wiki page?
@mekkaokereke Great job Officers! All charges found in favor of the defendant, none for the plaintiffs.
@mekkaokereke HE WON! The jury did not find him guilty. I love this for the butt hurt cops who raided him.

Cry harder!🤣🤦🏿‍♂️

@mekkaokereke

"Officer Cooley, these 'lemon pound cake' t-shirts that you mention, can you tell the court where these can be purchased." 🤣

@mekkaokereke Daaamn! These responses are amazing. No idea who this guy is tbh but he's my new personal hero.

@mekkaokereke

A new hero defending the freedom of speech arises!

@mekkaokereke
With the exception of this, there isn't anything to like about him.
@notyourfanboy @mekkaokereke And your point? His privacy was invaded for the “crime” of existing while Black. He’s using the law to support his right to speak out.

@notyourfanboy

does he need more than this for you to like him? or are you trying to imply improprieties without naming any of them?

@mekkaokereke wow, what a clip! the gravitational field of the victory this should be for him ought to disrupt detections in LIGO 💫💖
@mekkaokereke I think my favorite video so far in the series is def the Randy Walters one, just sooooo good https://youtu.be/u4AiuqQpB1U?si=-Umd68zdMAns3Anv
RANDY WALTERS IS A SON OF A BITCH

YouTube
@AstroHyde @mekkaokereke if you've been watching since the beginning, it's been a gentle simmer though somehow even funnier. Started with "what a faux pas to illegally search Afroman's house" to "lol these songs, I guess he's making the best of it" to "they're suing him????" to this. Wild.

@mekkaokereke
He is so right and so justified in his actions.

I like the suit he chose to wear for the deposition, too.

@katrinakatrinka @mekkaokereke The whole way he handles the injustice he had to live through is a level of petty and at the same time being a rather good sport one can only admire.
@schrotthaufen @mekkaokereke
He acknowledges the humanity of the people who didn't see him and his family as human and reminds the lawyer of that fact.
@katrinakatrinka @mekkaokereke exactly this! 10/10 suit choice! I think my mom made me a pair of overalls like that back in the day.... Totally awesome!

@mekkaokereke Just wow. Those people terrorized children, pointed guns at them, and are now crying because their kids had to deal with the fact that their parents are corrupt cops who point guns at kids? Unbelievable.

After that, HE was supposed to feel bad that the cops were upset.

@CStamp @mekkaokereke
"After that, HE was supposed to feel bad that the cops were upset."

That's how supremacy generally works 🫠

@RnDanger I was thinking about Lemon Pound Cake. If he were an introspective type, he might ponder how he refers to Black people and how that might affect THEM. As for the woman crying, well, it's an opportunity for her to consider how she performs her job and the respect she shows to the people she encounters in that capacity. With regards to her kid(s), she and the kid should go into therapy to discuss how they should handle things, not letting the kid stew in her mess. @mekkaokereke
@RnDanger Basically, the cops are dealing with embarrassment. The man and his family are dealing with actual trauma. @mekkaokereke
@CStamp @mekkaokereke
I will watch the video later but for now at least i can definitely agree with your last comment
@RnDanger The video I posted elsewhere in this thread is very good at showing what the actual charges are and the guy goes through parts of the music video to highlight possible problem areas. He's both laughing and fascinated about how the 1A will balance with the cop's right to privacy. With regards to the actual security footage, he's clear on the cops having no expectation of privacy while doing their jobs. @mekkaokereke

@CStamp @RnDanger @mekkaokereke

How can there be ANY expectation of privacy when you are RANSACKING A HOUSE THAT ISN'T YOURS??

Boggles my mind. The NERVE.
