You better rock your body politic now!
It's surprising to me that this isn't more obvious to more Australians, but Australia's property investment is stuck in the "Lucky Country" setting. When we ask why there's not more investment in businesses, why companies like RedFlow go under and there's no innovation: There's plenty, there's just no investment.
Why would you, when you can invest in a house and basically be guaranteed success? There are billions locked in houses that could be driving business growth, and to top it off, all the (young) people who want to start these businesses are having to go overseas for better investments, and *more affordable housing*.
Australia actually punches above its weight on innovation and new companies. You can tell by all the Aussie accents on new exciting companies, but Aussie investors are just asleep at the wheel.
I just don't know why conservatives aren't more ashamed that Trump isn't way more roided up. Like isn't that your thing? Isn't that your thing??
What are you doing? Why do you have a fat loser up there? Give. Him. The. Steroids.
I think designers need to value the idea that in order to use a calculator, one needs to know math.
The Zeitgeist today is that actually software development is easy. You have a nice chair, you can get coffee, no problems. Being in a McDonalds: Hard. Being a farmer: hard.
So why are so many software developers burning out? Any thoughts? Is it actually easy and we're making it harder than it should be?
As the excellent Lidia Thorpe puts it:
"On 27 May 2025, 24-year-old disabled Warlpiri-Luritja man, Kumanjayi White, died under police restraint inside a supermarket in Mparntwe/Alice Springs. Kumanjayi was an NDIS participant and under state guardianship, so we must ask: why was he left without the support he needed? Why was he hungry and alone, ultimately criminalised and killed?"
