you have zero reason to trust any of the AV industry's "safer than a human driver" rhetoric because look at how readily they talk out both sides of their mouth in arguing for the normalization of shitty driving practices as, essentially, "well humans do it too, whaddya want from us?".
anecdotally, these things also pull far into crosswalks while waiting to turn. never forget that all you're really seeing is the shitty assumptions of silicon valley tech bros encoded into a dangerous new form.
