#ScribesAndMakers 2.22 — Create a poll giving a line from a book you wrote (or a favorite if you haven't written one) along with lines from two other books. Ask people to choose which was from yours.
1. “Soft hearts don’t survive here.”
“What kinds of hearts do?”
He leaned down until their eyes were level. “Hearts with teeth.” He reached out and gently gripped her chin in his hand, rubbing the pad of his thumb across her full, bottom lip.
She was frozen in place.
“C’mon, angel, show me your teeth.”
2. “Stay out of trouble, Curious Moth,” he said, as he strode for the door. Curious Moth. A nickname. A fitting one, too, given the fact that she had no intentions of avoiding the flame.
3. She laughed suddenly, the sound flighty and dizzying. “Stop it. I’m honestly dreaming. I must be. You would never say those words to me.”
“Wouldn’t I?” His eyes were defiant. “I have half a mind to ravish you here to prove it.”
“Then do it,” she breathed, chin tilting upwards. She met his stare with a look of pure rebellion. “Touch me. Unravel me. Rediscover me.”
