If Alistair's mind is on autumn, he's thinking about chilly nights, crunchy leaves, warm and cozy fires in the hearth, and peaceful walks outside with Hati (or long romantic ones with Fenella). It's his favorite time of the year and it always inspires him creatively. He gets a lot of writing done during the fall.

Alistair and Fenella would be the perfect example of this, honestly. I think @CodexArcene could agree with me here.

Alistair and Fenella are old friends, were once lovers, and were both sired by the same vampire, one called Isma. They're actually the same age, give or take a few years, and they've been through the highs and lows of vampiric life together. Their relationship is strained, to say the least, but they're the best of friends as well. He's still in love with her, and she seems to be unaware of that fact. It's an *important* relationship to the story considering this is a Paranormal Romance tale.

#PennedPossibilities 810 — Is there any mythology around the afterlife in your world?

Yes and no. We're talking about Scotland in the 1890s here. There's a plethora of ideas to be found, religious or otherwise. It's a place rich with mythology and lore, but of course you also have Christians and Catholics in the area as well.

In this story, there is no "God" or anything equivalent. It simply doesn't exist. We don't actually know where anyone goes after they die, and I enjoy the mystery of it. The readers don't have to know everything. We only know that if vampires are killed, they don't go to "Hell" because it doesn't exist. They remain in the world, drifting around, and become ghosts. Vampires, werewolves, and other creatures know better. They're entirely atheistic, and they certainly don't pretend to believe in Catholicism or Christianity in order to fit in. If anything, mortals amuse them.
