.... ssssssssssssscience?
@Viss riiiiiight
Sciiience.
@Viss I don't think it is! Or if it is AI generated, it was done by the company not New Scientist.

Just before the 30 second mark. You can see where they screenshotted.

I see, so we are deciding to make Combine tech, then.

I can't get over the graphics. Is this a mod? What the hell are we looking at? That is not Doom Guy, the gun looks wrong, what the hell is he shooting?
(also yes black magic with cellular life etc but)
I hate this.
»bringing biological computers a step closer to useful applications« 😄
Wait… useful for what? 😳
this is what the brain cells in question look like under a microscope
@Viss looking- there is literally nothing more satisfying than the sound and feeling of the Doom shotgun, followed by the tinny roars of death when you nail something with said shotgun. It's a distilled endorphin rush without compare. To conclude, those are happy braincells, and this is how we grow zombie soldiers.
(Technically it was Quake soldiers that had their pleasure centres wired to go off when they killed, but close enough).
@Viss
Wait, what.. they program it in Python? So, like what does that even mean? You can program the human brain in Python?
Okay so how can I do this at home? I've got a few great brain automation ideas.
@Viss A bit disappointed: of course, playing Doom is nice, but I was hoping they were running Doom on human brain cells...
(wouldn't be the first time either; I still have the occasional Doom dream, flashing back to the 90s)
@Viss
Sounds like science fiction...
We are living in parts of the future I was reading about as a teenager
Training human brain cells on a chip to play this game evokes certain images...
