An election with only one allowed outcome is not an election.
This "election" is performative, to make people think they can still vote so they will accept all these measures. If they get away with it, it will be the last one. This performative election is the last faint chance to object to fascism, that is why they are spending so much - to render any opposition to the current administration ineffective so that resistance will fail.

If they try ten different things, where no individual one on its own is sufficient to change the outcome, but any six would be - then any time discussion focuses on one tactic, they can deflect by saying "oh come now, any effect from that was too small to change the outcome anyway, get over it".

That is why I always push back on the "voting don't matter" narrative. It will always matter, it will always be worth fighting for the right to vote.

Also, Minnesota had a special election with ICE oppressing them and scaring people from going out in public. They voted in spite of it.

And you have to remember, states like Texas with Greg "the fucker" Abbott are going to be gleeful little helpers in making this happen.

That was all before computer were available, the internet, surveillance cameras, face recognition software, surveillance capitalism, worldwide media companies in the hands of few regime-friendly owners.

Michael McWilliams@randahl It's also important to note that if you have the option available to you, you can vote by mail. BUT, the post office is delaying postmarks by several days so if you vote by mail, get it into the mail as soon as possible. If you wait until near the deadline it will likely not get postmarked in time and your vote will not be accepted. So mail in your vote EARLY.

No one can deny they have been there, no one can believe the stolen election with visible ppl. Mail vote is better but nothing, but far from safe. You need to stand up, show up, speak up, vote. Juggling With EggsSo Bannon wants to get the idea of ICE being present at polling stations into the public consciousness. The fact he chose to be the person to say it suggests his influence really has tanked even in MAGA circles. To make it happen would be a declaration of civil war…I suspect this is more about stoking the fear to get same outcome without the smoking gun.

@randahl he also admits: his definition of stealing is voting against GOP. This is the classic redifining of words, changing their meaning to ride a narrative and mass manipulate. Once this works, they can say "the sky is purple" and no one will oppose. They can say "good is bad, and bad is good", and no one will oppose.
