Thank you to Steve Bannon for giving away the game:

Step 1: Show the people that ICE can kill anybody.

Step 2: Have ICE show up at polling stations in areas where people vote against Trump, so those neighborhoods do not go vote.

@randahl
ICE doesn't have that many people.

Also, Minnesota had a special election with ICE oppressing them and scaring people from going out in public. They voted in spite of it.

Minnesotans just showed they’ll ‘crawl over broken glass’ to vote, despite ICE terror

If Trump sends troops to disrupt voting, he could face a massive backlash

They can't do the whole country, but they don't need to, they just need to do certain districts. This is about holding on to a razor majority in congress.

And you have to remember, states like Texas with Greg "the fucker" Abbott are going to be gleeful little helpers in making this happen.

I don't want to demoralize people from voting, but we have to be prepared for the real possibility of it being stolen.

@contrasocial @randahl
Check out Texas' recent special election. The only way you get a 30 point swing is for Republicans to vote for the Democratic candidate.

Democrat Taylor Rehmet wins solidly red Texas Senate seat in stunning special election upset

With ballots tallied from all but a handful of voting centers, Rehmet had 57% of the vote, besting the 43% for his GOP opponent, Leigh Wambsganss, who had a massive spending advantage.

If you read the article, you'd get that the point is that the regular people don't support this to the point that they are motivated to act against these ICE kidnappings and violence.

History and present actions show that eventually all dictatorships are overthrown.

@[email protected] @[email protected] History shows that it takes decades to overcome dictatorship. In the case of Germany and the other Axis powers, military actions were necessary from the outside. That was all before computer were available, the internet, surveillance cameras, face recognition software, surveillance capitalism, worldwide media companies in the hands of few regime-friendly owners.

Yep. Once they're enmeshed, they're hard to get out.

All the more reason to do everything you can now while courts still rule against them and the public is still shocked by their murders.

It won't get easier as time goes by. Just more difficult.
