They need specialized hardware for that, new segment of CPU's, and this diverges from gaming hardware a lot. The future is bright. People like the doom scrollers on phones will immediately head to store to buy the new Copilot PC's and finally leave us alone to focus on real work and video games in off time.

wrosecrans@nixCraft If Microsoft really believed in this stuff they could leave Windows alone and launch a new software platform called Agents and everybody would migrate to that because they want a platform for agentic stuff and not a platform for windowed GUI computer programs.
Obviously, nobody expects MS to do that. Nobody has suggested it seriously. Everybody would be shocked if they did it. So nobody actually believes this, no matter what they say and no matter what they tell themselves.

Windows nor any other SW is only developed. Never evolves and even if an "agentic OS" was possible it would be useless for doing accounts, writing books, editing video, doing email, library management or whatever.

EF@nixCraft many of the responses to this are funny. MS only cares about corporate accounts and cloud. My client (I do not work in IT) cares about security, privacy, sovreign data etc., but employes only MS solutions and oddles of licenses to the point where now, I doubt they can escape even if there was the will.
Normal end users, many do not care and will freely upgrade and pay (cash and freedom) for doing so but MS care little about them.
