I'm baffled by this idea of turning my computer off.
Computers, I always give them away while they are still serviceable, but I don't think I've ever left a phone that someone else could use.
OBJECTION!

It isn't the 1970s any more.
@schmitzel76 @stux I remember a model of desktop PC where the power pushbutton protruded from the case front even in the ‘on’ state, and was the exact same height as the back edge of the keyboard. Pushing the keyboard back against the computer would switch it off!
…except, the button activated on release. So, if you heard the ‘click’ you’d realise you’d armed it. The trick then was to hold the keyboard against the case for as long as it took to save your WIP and shutdown everything cleanly!
Actually should be called a "toe process".
I used to do something similar until I had turned my computer off by accident enough times.
@stux I always used my tongue, which is why I probably kept getting sacked...
...And electrical shocks.
@HowardGees Yeap.. And this was a real turn off.
Since the ATX era began it isn't possible anymore to fully/really turn off the pc or even today phones as well. There's always some power on the board and that's why things like PoL/PoK are possible. Which weren't doable in the time of the AT standard.
Percussive maintenance, yes.
