I'm baffled by this idea of turning my computer off.

@TimWardCam Something called industrial pollution too. Turning on and off your PC kills it quicker so it gets thrown out and more electronic stuff is made for you helping destroy the climate. Almost everything is a big disco ball, choose the facet you want to focus on, it's all mirrors

@geoffl Am I too old and using an analogy that makes no sense to anyone now? Not uncommon for me now. ;-p
@GraeghosMIUS Turning computers off when not needed (mine are always set to power down after 60 seconds of no interaction) doesn't noticeably shorten the life of modern computers, it'll be obsolete before it breaks. I've always run aggressive power saving so my machines shut down and restart about 20 times per day and I've never replaced a main board, processor, graphics card or memory for any reason other than an upgrade.
