Seriously, the most complex thing I've had to adjust for is the fact that a 2011 CVPI and all Ford Panther Platform Cars have a classic shifting lever at the steering collumn and that @fuchsiii 's #Datsum1200 has a manual choke that needs to be pulled full on cold start.

  • So the entire #Enshittification seems pointless, because the 0,02 CdA efficiency gains of removing a door handle is being eaten up by the mirrors anyway...

We just bought a Kia Sportage. Yeah, the whole dash is a screen, but at least the volume/temp controls (and typical light and car-driving control like cruise) are physical.
First question: "Is there anything on this car, besides the satellite radio that is subscription based?" (No.)

Didn't sign up for that KiaConnect app or "register the vehicle online". No carplay, android auto. Phone connects via A2DP for audio only (and HFP and HS for calls). Nothing else. The car (and Kia) is learning nothing from me.

I'm sure its sending reams of data back to Kia but nothing that tie to me personally.
The only thing they have on me is my real name, bank acc. and the fact that I'm on the financing papers. I think even put "NOYB" under "Sex" on the paperwork.

@alex @kkarhan Now, if the car is collecting telemetry like about how fast I drive or where I go and they're somehow able to correlate that to me as a person with what little info I've provided on the financing paperwork.. well, good on them I guess.

Well, you've at least piqued my interest enough to go investigate more, Im sure there's a privacy boilerplate I can srkrull through. But anything tied to mobile phone use or online subscription basis Kia aint getting nuttin from me.
