Toucans reintroduced 50 years ago disperse seeds of endangered trees in Brazil

More than 50 years ago, the ariel toucan was reintroduced to Tijuca National Park, the world’s largest urban forest, located in Rio de Janeiro in southeastern Brazil. Now, a new study finds that the bird, which became locally extinct in the 1960s, has almost entirely settled back into its original role in the ecosystem, serving […]

Times of India | Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff to engineers: Your role is not disappearing, it is just…

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff says AI is not replacing his 15,000 engineers—it is reshigning their role. Speaking on The Future Live, Benioff said coding agents from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Cursor have made Salesforce's engineering org over 30% more productive, but stressed that models still cannot operate autonomously. He froze engineering hiring in FY26, cut service headcount slightly, but hired nearly 20% more salespeople to meet rising demand.

*Gears* aka UBC Engineers did their usual hack, secretly placing a stripped down VW Beetle where it doesn’t belong.

This time though, they thought to be more innovative and eschewed favourites like hanging the car under the Lions Gate Bridge or putting it up on the bridge’s cross supports.

Unfortunately, it sounds like they made choice that’s not only a public safety concern due to its precarious placement on a popular climbing rock face, it disrespects Squamish land.

‘The Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) said in an email statement that the car is located on a sacred site within the nation's territory.

“Placing or hanging anything upon it is extremely disrespectful both to our People, and to our land,” said the statement.

“We sincerely hope that in the future, people treat it with the respect it deserves.”’

Romans were superb #military #engineers.

Their legions would BUILD A FUCKING FORT every night on a march.

Once, a Roman legion was pursuing a Gaul army they defeated...the Gauls took 2 days to ferry across a river on boats once across they burned the boats...when romans caught up to the river, they build a bridge in few hours and slaughtered the Gauls.

Another Gaul battle, the romans were going to get fucked by overwhelming force.
While half the army held the Gauls at bay, the other half build a fort...
Sorry...BUILD A FUCKING FORT
In the middle of a battle.
They went on to win.

Also, the country of ROMANIA, they genocided entire people...#Romans were total badarses, its why they had an empire and my mum still had to learn their language 1000 years after their fall.

Can one of the #space #engineers explain how such videos are made? Is it just an extreme lens or is there an arm stretching out? #artemis2
