Tomorrow's my sibling's day of birth
Mom doesn't even remember him anymore, she used to and it always hurt as she forgot me quickly, within days of our 1st #ESA passing in 2022
I haven't heard my mother, the only person who ever protected me growing up, tell me she loves me while understanding who I truly am for several years
Mom's bday is next week... She can't have #joy because she doesn't know what that means
It's a thread; #dementia sucks
My greatest wish is that she at least have #care but patriarchy doesn't teach love or care for #elders
What it teaches is making children #godtier importance and anyone else who is a #dependent is seen as a parasite
What people don't realize and will never understand about my choice to care for my elder is that it's not obligation
To leave Mom behind to this system of violence is to betray the core of who I am
Even if she never loved me I choose care and #HarmReduction
When I was young I dreamt of Mom being able to rest and have joy at least in her twilight years of not in her last few decades
I pictured us housed in a place that couldn't be stolen, maybe even back home in #Nicaragua painting, sewing, caring for plants and flowers... creating beauty as she always loved
I can't even look at her today with pain welling up deep in my soul
70+ yrs of pure #suffering #abandon and #neglect
She's a DV survivor and has never once had #safety but you will blame her
She worked, paid and unpaid, she studied, she loved beyond compare despite a life of harm and violence she didn't forget but she forgave
She understood my father's history and why he was how he was even if she didn't excuse him she humanized him, same for my grandfather
She had a retirement fund, my father stole it, she made another we used it within the 1st year or her being unable to find work as she became more #disabled she tried to start her own business, people violated our home
Everything #patriarchy holds dear she did while also fighting to break cycles with her limited knowledge
But you will say she didn't save enough, didn't work hard enough, wasn't learned enough and whatever other excuse you want to decide to dehumanize her and wait for the government to do the work of humans
You expect a violent system to house and clothe you and everyone else instead of how we were designed to exist
Humans are dependent on one another that's how heard/pack animals are
The #ScottRossi s of the internet - yt supremacist librals of the #Fediverse - and their so called queer affinity group will demonize me for using her funds to keep her housed and fed even as it's not enough just to wash their hands of their human #obligation to coexist with other humans
I see it everyday the #Blue scapegoating the #Red because the Reps are #capitalism 's little golden child and everyone just keeping agreements with the #DeathMachine
Coporate simps crying about being human
I stayed off here to avoid more yt violence against my #displaced #Indigenous Latina family but seeing my #disabled friends fighting for survival made me come back at least for now
I'm so tired of seeing #MutualAid being policed and treated like #charity
The #poor have a RIGHT to autonomy and having less of the little numbers that give false power doesn't make us criminals
#ACAB s aren't just the thugs that once recaptured enslaved people they are also you who want to choose who gets to live
You can choose #liberation and choose to have a future with #Black and #Brown people, #Queer and #Disabled people thriving beyond the collapse of the #DeathMachine by helping the #marginalized live - investing time, energy and care in #MutualAid
