🖥️ What is Windows OS known for?

@nixCraft at first revolutionary, now revolting
@nixCraft Ever meaningful, actionable error messages.
@tipiak75 @nixCraft It's Windows, it's an error if the operation even starts /s

@nixCraft Unsecurity by obscurity? Using highly regarded security technologies in the most shitty way?

To be honest, Windows 3.1 was the first OS that I was able to afford that did real statisfying graphic processing like using the same code to display an image on the screen and print it in a much higher DPI resolution on a matrix or laser printer. Using a single printer driver for all applications. Compare that with an AS/400 at the same time with IPDS and BGU...

@nixCraft malware, broadly generalized.
@nixCraft spyware (Recall), AI crap (Copilot) and shitty dialog boxes (Yes / Maybe Later)
@nixCraft The depths of its depravity?
@nixCraft regarding my last 3 dev live weeks: bugs

@nixCraft Honestly: A great time with Win95/98 and Win2000.

But afterwards: Did anyone look forward to "the next Windows update" anymore?
