i know it isn't caturday and nobody seems to share this one, but it made me laugh, so i'm sharing it, hoping it will make someone laugh
I have been saying the same thing since the year 2000. I will repeat myself again: Taxpayers money should go toward free and open source software, not to batshit crazy AI companies like Microsoft who are taking away jobs or who are building spyware at OS level when it comes to government departments.

The Great Wall is known for its length.

Mount Everest is known for its height.

🖥️ What is Windows OS known for?

Debian Linux was officially founded by Ian Murdock on August 16, 1993. That's 32 years of stable, free, and opensource computing. From a single kernel, it has grown to parent some of the most popular OSes in the world. Cheers to the one that started it all! Happy 32nd birthday to the beloved mother of all distros!! 🥰 🍰
What I don't understand is why major Linux distros with deep pockets (IBM/Red Hat, Canonical, SUSE, etc.) don't design, or help technically or financially maintain, major apps for photo editing, office suites, and video editing, and make them compatible with existing apps like Adobe or MS-Office. This would not only boost the FOSS ecosystem, but major government contracts could be given to them, and the public would benefit from it. Tax payers money should go to FLOSS and not to tech bros
