Helped a local journalist understand the fundamental mechanisms behind LLMs and generative algorithms, to illuminate why they "get things wrong," and connected the dots between how they're currently trained and controlled with colonialism and rising authoritarianism.

It feels good to help clever and kind people connect these dots and see those lightbulb moments.

(One of these days I have to do that with my fellow Petaluma Pride board members... A few folks are a bit too taken by these things.)

Trump says we're winning in Iran. The NY Times reports that Iran’s retaliatory strikes have rendered many of the United State’s 13 military bases in the Gulf region “all but uninhabitable,” forcing American military servicemembers to work remotely from hotels and office spaces.

Maybe my definition of winning is different than Trump's.

An alle die Denken, dass eine #klarnamenpflicht irgendwie eine Lösung wäre:

Ich nutze das Internet nicht, um Leute zu beleidigen. Ich nutze es privat für Hobbies. Es geht meinen AG, meine Nachbarn, einfach niemanden etwas an, was ich in meiner Freizeit mache. Ich möchte nicht, dass irgendwer Google oder eine KI nach mir befragt eine Auflistung bekommt, was ich so für Hobbies habe, bei welchem Spiel ich viel Zeit verbracht habe, zu welcher OpenSource Lösung ich vielleicht eine Meinung geschrieben habe etc.
