Don't forget to vote today! Help keep the AfD away from the parliament. #Bundestagswahl
@Gargron we won't keep them away but we can limit the damage.
@amayer @Gargron @bearslayer
@Gargron  thanks for posting that. While the decision who to vote for is a personal one, everyone should agree to keep the Nazis - afd and including (at least a huge part of) cdu - out of the government.

@Gargron

Sehen Sie, was gerade in Amerika passiert ist.

Die Welt braucht Deutschland.

#Bundestagswahl

@Gargron How is the weather today in Germany?

Remember; Brexit partially happened because the weather was too nice and young people (more inclined to vote 'No') went lingering outdoors.

@sv1 @Gargron

Not that nice but it's not raining

@sv1 @Gargron what's the general feeling over there.regarding trump throwing Ukraine under the bus, threatening Canada and Denmark and Elon's nazi salute. Despite FB and Twitter now obvious being propaganda tools, Surely the Germans are smart enough to see what's happening, ya think there will be backlash?
@sv1 @Gargron how's life in bizarro land where nothing you say correlates to reality?
@protofoxriley @sv1 @Gargron also wtf, googling "what was the weather like on the day on the brexit vote" gets mostly results that the weather was bad...
@green nooo you changed the outcome by measuring it, thats not fair! /s
@sv1 @Gargron the weather is very nice yes....

i can't vote anyway, so i can enjoy it, i guess

@sv1 @Gargron yes it wasn’t the troves of racist old people who are terminally glued to facebook.

It was definitely “young people” to blame (16-18?)

Who could definitely vote…

Yes.

@sv1 @Gargron it astounds me that I am still reading terrible liberal brexit explanation takes in the year of our lord 2025
@ret @sv1 can confirm; was in that age range at the time of the vote and solidly pissed off that I couldn't vote myself, almost all of my peers were also very much against brexit.
@Gargron Good Luck Germany! 🤞🏼💫🇩🇪🇪🇺
@Gargron
From the government, I hear.
They will, unfortunately, become part of the parliament in any way :-/
@Gargron Wahlbeteiligung in meinem Wahllokal war heute morgen inkl. Vtiefwahl schon bei über 50%.
@Gargron AfD is a US front organisation now that Trump is in charge.

@Gargron (As a non-German) Agreed, but strategically I'd advocate more against BSW than AfD at this point. The far right is in and at second place anyways and a concerted effort in messaging might keep them down a couple of seats at most.

Meanwhile whether or not BSW get 4.9% or 5.0% decides the fate of 36 Bundestag seats from going either all to the populist pro-Russia anti-environment crazies - or being split between the one crazy, one crazy-cooperative and 3-4 normal parties.

@Gargron they are already in the parliament. keep them away from government!
@Gargron I'm really regretting not getting my citizenship right about now.
I'd be for Green if I could, Habeck seems to be the only Statesmanlike candidate.

@Gargron When did we forget to promote our own projects instead of trying to stop "the others" plans.

It's easier to blame others but the lack of vision and courage of European politicians.

Unfortunately, results won't be a surprise.

#Europe #Fail

@Gargron away from parliament? that semms to be wishful thinking to me. We may be able to keep them away from government .... this time.
@Gargron Those of us in the U.S. that are mourning our loss will relish your victory as we unwillingly move towards a dictator.
Mañana mismo cambio de nodo/instancia 🤮
@Gargron Seriously, Germany. You know what happens when you elect these guys, and you've seen what we've descended into -- they haven't changed. Don't mess this up.

Hi @Gargron

While I heartfully approve your toot, I think you should act accordingly and reconsider the federation with Threads.

With Trump in the White House, nazis are on the loose and tech CEOs are promoting so called "free speech".

This applies to Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta (which owns Threads), who advocates for "masculine energy".

LGBT+ people, who fled from that cesspit formerly known as Twitter because of harassment, might be targeted by unmoderated messages sent through Threads.

As an instance admin, I feel concerned by the issue of major "central nodes" of Mastodon federating with private owned services having a political agenda.

@Gargron Apparently, the people voted to keep the FDP out of the Parliament instead...
