@cstross I am somehow reminded the of the suffragette hat pin.
https://tacticouture.com/ seems pretty practical, all in all. And there would have to be a market for lowered-vulnerability femme presentation accouterments.
These sorts of things are a plague on eBay when one is looking for decent multi-tools. Thousands of sellers advertise them. One can get metric ones.
But I think that "tech people" is not their target market.
As someone who has bought gimmick multi-tools like this in the past I can speak from experience:
These won't cut those cable ties, either.
There's a reason that the photograph in the ad is using a pre-cut apple. (-:
They'll also get stuck if used as advertised (by many eBay sellers) as tokens for supermarket trolleys, not fit the hex nut that you need to turn, and slice your fingers off in the rare case that the nut size matches.

Not sure how well that'd work as a bullet proof vest.
Think I'll wait for the Ultralight titanium version. Also some glue for my bald head.
@cstross quote:"Founder Beau Chevassus grappling with some buddies in rural Mongolia. Chevassus is the co-founder of Kalos Agon Intl (2010), a nonprofit self-defense Christian ministry that specializes in cross cultural, nation-wide self-defense, weapons, and martial art training. Chevassus has served in 37 countries"
There are ways to make spending money on this kickstarter even less appealing. But this is certainly up there.
Also, of course it's by a man.
@cstross It has a million uses:
"Magnetized and floated on a leaf to be used as a compass"
Sure thing, Rambette - which end kills grizzly bears?
@cstross These (or something very similar to them; I don't remember where I got them) are my regular hair clips during the parts of the year where I'm not wearing a hat all the time!
I honestly don't think I've ever used the tool functionality, but I like that I could. Also they're good hair clips and don't fall out easily like cheap drug store ones tend to.
