So this is part of the US (And to a smaller extent, Global ) EDC thing where there's a certian subset of people who assume tha thtey're goignt o have to murder quite a lot of people gratuitously every time they get out of thier giant SUV to pick up thier starbucks.
They're obsessed with carrying multiple flashlights and knives to the point of self parody.

@Cuprohastes I carry insane flashlights, but then, I'm night blind in one eye and street lighting is often inadequate for me. Knives, not so much (it being thoroughly illegal hereabouts)!

We're talkng a folding knife as a back up for the tactical dagger that's slotted next to the tactical stabbing rod dosguised as a pen, that ypu can use if you misplace the tanto tip blade - maybe because your boot knife pushed it out of your calf holster. Never mind at least ypu have the karambit around your neck, tactical barette and the ka-bar in an armoit sheathe.

That said, I own a ton of the little nulon zipper poiches: they hold lens cleaners, bandaids, pens, small notebooks, antacids, insane flashlights brighter than the sun, USB cables, gum, and paracord (in case my shoelace snaps or my belt fails etc.)
They're genuinely useful ways to keep small items from rattling around.
