@KydiaMusic our two [also] do something for us we've never seen in other cats: they kind of wave at us. It's like stretching but with one front paw. It seems to mean "hello, I see you".

Meggie bites us (gently) - it has always been her expression of love! She 'kisses' hubby - & tilts her head up to receive kisses.
Laurie licks our bare feet & legs whenever he sees them, & has long 'conversations' with us.
He has 'named' us - a great honour!

@crdfilm yeah, our elder cat Loki took quite a while to warm up to the “babies”—it’s been 6 years and he still gets grumpy about it sometimes.

@KydiaMusic I feel like if we had just introduced them right off the bat instead of keeping them separated for a month he would have accepted her. But he was locked out of the bedroom and knew something was in there so it just freaked him out a bit. Every now and then they'll get close enough that she can lick his head and he lets her!

@KydiaMusic This is #Pip. (And my spouse.) Pip is a very talkative boy, so words of affirmation are very much his thing. Touch and quality time are even bigger. There must be at least two snuggles per day, and when I have zoom therapy, he always shows up to be my support kitten.

Oops, I just missed out voting on this despite having seen it a few times but I had been thinking about what to answer, because....

well, this is Ginza. She's a feral cat who neighborhood historians tell me is about 7 or 8 years old. I've been befriending her over the summer and now fall. Because I'm the first person she's ever bonded with, she's still learning how to express her sense of friendship and affection.

But she purrs a lot and loves snuggles.

@michellelaverickmusic oh my cats answer back all the time (but in Cat, not English). I’m trying to learn the differences in their various exclamations, but it’s still a bit of a mystery! At least there’s body language to go off of, too. Especially with how they use their tails!
