This may be the funniest fucking thing I've ever seen.

So tonight I was watching Erin Brockovich. In this movie based on actual events in California, PG&E tried to snooker a whole bunch of people into selling their houses to PG&E because PG&E had added hexavalent chromium to their cooling-water tower their plant machinery to inhibit corrosion, specifically rust. They then dumped this used coolant water into unlined ponds, which let the hexavalent chromium leach into the groundwater. The water going to a large number of houses in the community of Hinkley CA was causing cancers, among many many other nasties.

These new AI datacenters in the US are adding things to the water cooling their data, so in most cases, the water won't be potable after it's used to cool the datacenters.

Does anyone know of any good sources that tell what's in that water, and how the water is being kept after use cooling these datacenters?
