Good morning, I work up to a list of breastfeeding questions that their antenatal classes really should have covered. Not impressed with that aspect of their care either. But the midwives were so wonderful in other ways that Tom is taking in gifts for them today, my stepdaughter felt so well looked after.

At 9am I’m meeting last year’s successful fellowship candidate, I had better get my behind off the sofa and out in my walk!

#3GoodThings

1) Getting to see Tom with his baby grandson on his knee
2) I’ve engaged lovely cat sitters for our next holiday
3) I just went to a really wonderful online meditation group, I’m going to try to go again tomorrow

Goodnight!

Oof I’ve just been playing breastfeeding counsellor, stepdaughter is finding it hard going as so many people do at first. They are often surprised that it doesn’t just come naturally, but both the feeder and the baby have a completely new skill to learn. The really important thing is that she doesn’t lose confidence but it’s hard when the baby won’t latch
Quick video call with Tom holding baby Alfie 🥰🥰🥰
Regarding my fellowship interview, I have a meeting tomorrow morning with last year’s successful candidate which I hope will be helpful. I now have more details, the whole interview is only 20 mins including a three minute presentation with no notes or slides! Eek!
Just about to have the last hot cross bun of 2025. Thoughts and prayers, please
I managed a 20 minute “advanced beginner run” which was much easier than the walk + runs, even though they come under the category of walks 🤷‍♀️ Hardly any walking in this one but the jog/run intervals were short, so manageable. Nice out in the sun 😄 #running
Good morning, Tom’s heading off to London shortly to meet the baby then I’ll go for a run. I’m very sleepy but hopefully I can manage it. Not much in the work diary today so it’s just getting on with data analysis, but at lunch time I have a call with potential cat sitters. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

#3GoodThings

1) A shopping trip to buy our new grandson some presents
2) An early birthday card for me which I naughtily opened instead of saving for Saturday
3) A joyous evening out with a crew of garrulous retirees

I’ve been looking at restaurants in the little town the conference is to be held in. I don’t want the hotel’s “fine dining” every night, you can have too much cream and jus. I think I’d be happier at the Greek or Indian restaurants up the road. If I have to go on my own that’s probably better than being with a boozy group
