Scientists have discovered a black hole that has a gravitational field so strong that no treats or dropped food scraps can escape. #science
@stokes
OMG, I love it!!! He/she looks very convincing, black hole-wise. 🖤
@stokes And I was told that black holes had no hair.

Who's a good singularity? Is it you? Yes, it is!

@stokes "If you gaze too long into the abyss, you'll realise the abyss is gazing back at you." - Nietzsche (approximately)
@stokes I must reach my hand into the abyss and risk petting this black hole, for it looks to be the bestest black hole.
@stokes The level of detail of the event horizon is amazing, would def drop some treats to study it further
@finestructure @stokes These experiments should be meticulously documented, including video footage. There is reason to believe that the approach of some types of treats may coincide with the appearance of certain protuberances and seemingly related emissions of sound waves, almost as if the black hole reacts to the proximity of treats; this requires deeper study.
@stokes is that particular black hole a schipperke? Beautiful!
@stokes Making the demonstrarion that black holes indeed have hair! 🤭
@stokes Cutest black hole I have ever seen!
@stokes and no human can resist to hold close....!
@stokes A perfectly round floof
@stokes when the abyss stares back and you can't say no to that goofy face
@stokes Love the care that — very obviously — went into writing the alt-text. 👍 😎
I think this is one of my all-time favorite toots. 🙂

@stokes

And here we have photographic evidence supporting Stephen Hawking's assertion that black holes might contain "soft hair". Clearly, they DO!!!

❤️

@stokes

Interestingly floofy accretion disc.
@stokes if you look into the awwbyss the awwbys mlems back at you
@stokes When you stare into the singularity, the singularity stares right back at you, and very hungrily.
