iCloud Keychain data does not count against iCloud storage/quota. So your iCloud cannot get so full that you can’t use passkeys.
God forbid, but if a cloud account of any kind is ever shut off, you have your passkeys locally that you can easily move to another app.

My mom arrived today for a visit. At the airport, the scanner detected a knife in her carry-on, to her big surprise. Turned out she’d taken her late husband’s suitcase and it was in some semi-hidden side pocket.
What I couldn’t believe: they searched her suitcase for 10 mins to find the knife. And then they handed it to her to take it with her on the flight?!?
It was a pocket knife, perhaps a 5-6cm blade, and she’s 80 years old. But why on earth look for it in the first place? Bonkers.
