And not a single Kardashian among them, which is one of the things I appreciate about this place. ❤️
Not even Garak?
I'm sending you a song of brotherhood in my own language. The story of two fishermen, Greek and Turkish.
This is how universal culture will be established.
@Gargron That's just 70M users signed up. I'm sure a *very* low percentage of those signed up will stay active after the initial sugar rush, especially once the non-celebrities/influencers discover how invisible they are there (it's worse in that respect than Twitter ever was).
It's just plain better here in the Fediverse.
Fired up #Threads and scrolled for a few minutes through the content that was placed in my timeline by The Almighty Algorithm. Gotta say, if #Meta were going for a first impression of "Wow I care about literally none of this inane bullshit" then they nailed it.
@openroomxyz @dennis_jernberg @Gargron It seems very "Follow these influential/famous people" based rather than interest based.
I'm not interested in that kind of place. The "Global Town Hall" is a myth on any social network, it's going to end up more like a "Drunken brawl in the town square".
@Gargron I feel like Threads and Mastodon have two different targets in a way. Remember that their goal is to integrate with everyone through ActivityPub, so we all win in the end.
And be proud of the work y'all are doing, too!
