Lean & Agile Coaching informed by Complexity Theory & Systems Thinking, spiced with ... way too much to mention here.

'Socke' ist oft ein äußerst dehnbarer Begriff.

Some people prefer to make decisions fast, without fully understanding what they decide about and whether they have the right reasons for that decision. Being perceived as decisive, being in the driver's seat, is important in their circles. At times more important than good decisions.

Often, these people are called executives.

And there's a whole industry that leverages this to make mo' money.

The biggest problem with strategy is, that it locks people into working against an idealized future state with uncertain benefits instead of working with the evolutionary potential of the here and now.

... mindset babbling (which makes individuals responsible for failure) and great man theory (just need great leaders, engineers, whatever).

Seriously, I'm far from being a Scrum proponent. Never was. But all this shallowness - that intentionally or unintentionally spreads FUD and confuses people - is much worse than Scrum.

P. S.: Except for pushing AI for Story Point Estimation.

2/2

Just read another article that was critizing Scrum. I've read dozens of these anecdotes in the meanwhile.

And they are all similar in mentioning practices that don't exist in Scrum, some obvious misapplications or -understanding, whining about meetings, and so forth.

And the proposed alternative? Often a strange mix of cowboy-coding (do what you want, often remote), ...

The intellectual core of the task of creating user stories or features is to understand and describe a problem that is worth solving.

Since GenAI neither talks to customers or users, nor does reason, how is it supposed to understand a problem?

AI may rephrase a description, so it matches some format. But that's it.

Don't bother me with trying to sell GenAI for this use case.

#Value emerges when something is in the hands of a customer or user.

If that's true, it follows that the amount of (potential) value is uncertain before that point in time. One simply cannot know upfront.

If that's true, it follows that providing potentially valuable things often allows one to discover, what is valued by customers and by that better cater to their needs.

If that's true, optimizing the delivery process heavily contributes to discovery and creating more value.

People are not developed.

They evolve naturally given the possibility to do so and if they assume the change to be beneficial.

I want to say this very openly:

- #SAFe is not some industry standard or best practice.

- The Product Operating Model is not at all an evolution of the current status. Its core are 2 decades old concepts (enriched with some new terms, maybe some fairy dust here and there) that many, if not most companies didn't implement or failed to do so in the past.

('Founder mode' is not even worth an additional dash).

P. S.: Irgendjemand im Kundensupport meinte vor Monaten mir erklären zu wollen, dass das so schon richtig sei - also: it's not a defect, it a feature. 🤦
