@nixCraft Pihole and Firefox.
Frankly, it's a shame that I had to switch to Firefox in anticipation of Google starting to pull shit like this. If it weren't for that, I would be a very happy Vivaldi user.
No, I don't think the Vivaldi team will willingly pull the same shit, but with Vivaldi being based on Chromium, which is maintained by Google... I am just going to work under the assumption that the new manifest BS and any additional anti-adblocker measures will creep into Vivaldi as well.
@nixCraft Dang. I wonder when they'll start putting warnings on websites that bring Chrome to a crawl when they load 6,000 ads.
The mobile web is especially bad without an ad blocker.
Anyone know why enemy apps are hosted by the store?
Does it even work incognito?
It might be true but doesn't slow down after inital start!
I had experienced it in Firefox it's takes a while for inital start. But I have patato PC!
@nixCraft I'd gladly take a performance hit to block third-party ads and tracking. Speed is not the most important thing especially if you have patience. Just a matter of priorities. I actually have a book or other reading materials on my desk for waiting for these moments.
Of course, I don't believe Google claim for a second as my experience is that browsing performance actually improves when ads and trackers are blocked.
