A star cluster in the Coma Berenices constellation. Look near the bottom left and you’ll spot NGC 4565, the Needle Galaxy.
3 hours of total integration over 2 nights. I designed and 3D printed a diffraction mask in an attempt to get Hubble-like star spikes. It worked!
Pleiades, the Seven Sisters, is a nearby cluster of young stars. This was taken on a clear night, so why the clouds? The cluster is passing through the Taurus Molecular Cloud, the nearest star-forming region to Earth.
37 minutes of total exposure time at 135mm on my Sony a7 IV.
It blows my mind that I can just point my camera at the sky and take a picture of a nebula, or another galaxy, or another planet. Space is so cool.
Anyway, here’s the California Nebula taken from my backyard a few nights ago.
