In den letzten Wochen hatte ich wenig Muse, mich mit #SocialMedia zu beschäftigen. Real Life war anstrengend genug. :) So, was hat sich im #SelfHosting Bereich getan? #Passbolt ist in meinem Tagesablauf integriert und hat die anderen Passwortmanager aus dem Hause #Google oder #Apple verdrängt. Dazu hat sich nun noch #FireFlyIII gesellt welches noch eine PWA Frontend UI erhalten hat. Des weiteren #Pihole und #NGINX. Auf dem mittlerweile 2. (1/2)

Raspberry Pi als Heimserver – #8 – PiHole

Aus meiner Sicht gehört ein Werbeblocker in jedes moderne Smart-Home. Egal, ob man einen DNS-Dienst wie NextDNS oder AdGuard-DNS nutzt oder lokal eine Lösung wie PiHole oder AdGuard Home betreibt – das Blockieren von Werbung, Tracking und Malware-Domains erhöht nicht nur die Surfgeschwindigkeit, sondern auch die Sicherheit und den Datenschutz aller Geräte im Netzwerk. Ich selber nutze zwar primär AdGuard-DNS für eine einfache und effektive Lösung. In meinem Beitrag Werbung effektiv blockieren – Meine Empfehlung bin ich bereits darauf eingegangen. Allerdings möchte nicht jeder Geld für einen solchen Dienst bezahlen, und viele FOSS Enthusiasten ziehen eine selbst gehostete Lösung vor, um die volle Kontrolle zu behalten. Have a Pi-Hole and/or opensnitch as well and add some blocklists than the stock, or some DoH that blocks malware domains

My wife has an #iPhone, and used to use #FitBit to keep track of her daily exercise and eating habits, etc., weight management, all that stuff.
#Google has now thoroughly broken all that, with the revamp of FitBit to Google #Health. Which relies so much on advertisement connections, that the app won't load on our home network with #PiHole and #Unbound.
Anyway, long story, short question:
What's the best FitBit alternative for #iOS?

Project #homelab is making progress. I've just swapped out my manual proxy for SSL with an automated setup of Caddy with #Ansible. 🥳

Next step: automatically setting up the entries in #pihole as well, so that DNS works.
